″In our family,
there
was no clear line between religion and fly-fishing″
Norman
Maclean (River Runs through It)
We
have a long experience in accomodating fly-fishermen and organizing
fishing on Kupa River and its tributary creeks, Kupica and Curak.
We also organize
fishing trips on Gacka River at request, so we are proud to say that we
offer best that Croatia can offer in fishing tourism.
The apartment is located in a mountainous part of Croatia called Gorski
Kotar, in a nice village by the name of Belo, situated on the very
border with the Republic of Slovenia. The village is situated in the
beautiful Kupa River valley, surrounded by high wooded mountains on all
sides.
The village is situated on the very bank of
the river, a real mountain beauty of a greenish colour. Kupa
River is a natural border between the two countries, but it has always
presented more of a bond that connects than a border that separates the
two nations. This is still the region with intact nature, inhabited by
populations of wild bear, wolf, linx, deer and other big game.

It is a region
abundant in sources of clean and crystal-clear water with one of the
largest supplies of drinking water in Europe. Kupa River has
numerous tributary creeks supplying it with sufficient quantity and
optimum temperature of water throughout the whole year, which is a
prerequisite of good fishing during the entire season. The spring
part of Kupa River is located in Croatia, and it is around 25 km from
the apartment. Kupa River's spring is within Risnjak National Park,
which says enough about the level of preservation of the natural
enviroment.

The Kupa River
valley has excellent microclimatic conditions, which have a therapeutic
and healing effect for one's health. It is particularly interesting
that the Kupa River valley is less than hour's ride from the Adriatic
Sea and mild mediterranean climate.
Curak Creek's canyon valley, with Zeleni Vir (Green Whirlpool) spring
and a special geomorphological reservation Vražji prolaz (Devil's
Pass), is in close proximity, 6 km away. Kupa
River winds by picturesque villages, distinguished by traditional rural
architecture, sociable, hard-working and friendly inhabitants, among
whom you will always feel welcome.
If your heart starts beating faster when you see Mayflies swarming and
trouts picking them off the surface, if water gurgling over rocks is
sweetest music for you, if you want to rest and relax in pleasant
surroundings, we are here for you. |
